On the morning of Saturday, December 15, 2012. I woke up thinking that I had to go to the bathroom. I wasn't sure if it was my water that had broken so I called the hospital. I told Chris that it was time to go to the hospital. He worked on finding a place for Lyric to stay for the next couple days/nights. I'm glad that he found someone when he did. We headed to the hospital. Man, I wasn't sure that I was going to make it to the hospital! When we got parked Chris went to find a wheelchair as I wasn't going to make it to Labor and Delivery, let alone the door to the hospital. It felt like it took him ages to get the wheelchair and come back. But eventually he made it back and we were on our way to Labor and Delivery. We got up there, and they wanted us to fill out all the papers before being checked over in triage. I mean really! Can't we worry about the papers later? Like, maybe when I'm not in active labor!?!? Well, I needed to go to the bathroom. They said that I could go back after I filled out all my papers. I told them, "I NEED TO GO TO THE BATHROOM!" Finally, I got the directions to the bathroom. I headed back there, and to my dismay, I had a baby coming. I pulled the string for help. I heard everyone coming to the bathroom. I figured since it was a hospital that if I locked the door that they had a key to get in. Oh, boy was I wrong! They didn't know where the key was! I heard Chris pounding on the door trying so hard to break it down. I must have really scared him. And that was not my intention. Somehow, someway, I managed to unlock the door. And then minutes later, Michael was born right there on the bathroom floor of the triage area. If we were to have waited 5 more minutes before leaving for the hospital we would have been calling the ambulance because we weren't going to make it to the hospital. Or he would have been born on the side of the road on the interstate. All in all, labor lasted about 2 and a half hours. :)
Michael Justin was born on Saturday, December 15, 2012 at about 10:50 in the morning. He weighed 7 pounds and 5 ounces and was 20 inches long.
