1. It's been said that one small positive thought in the morning can change your whole day. Do you think that's true? Do you find that an easy exercise most mornings? What's something positive you told yourself today? If you missed that boat, what's something positive you could tell yourself tomorrow?
I don't know if it's true or not. I guess it depends on the day. It's one day closer to the weekend.

5. Recently a write by the name of Amy Glass ruffled feathers with a post she wrote saying she looks down on young women with husbands and kids and she's not sorry. Among other things, she says women will be equal with men when we stop saying house work and real work are equally important. You can read the whole piece by clicking here.

What say you? Do you think men and women are equal in the 21st century? Why or why not?

30 Days of Me Challenge (Day 29)

Day 29: What were your three favorite toys/games as a child?

When me and my siblings would stay at my Grama and Popa's house we would play hide and seek with our Uncle Ted. I think this is one of my absolute favorite games that I played.

My favorite toys were barbie dolls. We had a suitcase full of barbies and accessories to go with them. Me and my sisters played with them almost daily.

Another game that I enjoyed as a child was playing UNO with my grama. I loved to play, and boy was I a cheater! She almost never caught on to when I would cheat. :)

Where Did The Nice Weather Go?

Saturday 9 - I Will Always Love You

1. The Bodyguard is the best-selling movie soundtrack ever and this is the song most often associated with Whitney Houston. Is it on you iPod/mp3 player?
No, it isn't. But I love this song. :)

2. In the movie, Rachel (Whitney) sings "I Will Always You" after she realizes she can never see Frank (Kevin Costner) again. What song reminds you of a past love?
"Girls Don't Like Boys" by Good Charlotte reminds me of my very first love.

3. Despite the movie's and the song's overwhelming popularity, Whitney Houston was awarded a Razzie Award as the worst actress of 1992. What's the most recent criticism you received?
Hmm.. The most recent criticism that I received? I can't remember. Must not have bothered me.

4. On the bright side, share the last compliment you received.
I think the last compliment that I received was something along the lines of Lyric behaving while out and about.

5. In the 1980's when Whitney first burst onto the scene, a trendy woman wore big hair, big bows and big shoulder pads. Can you think of anything you wore that was fashionable at the time, but looking back, makes you cringe? (An embarrassing photo to accompany your answer would be nice!)
I think it would be the time that I got a perm. I had long and thick hair. I thought at the time that I really liked it. But now, when I think back, I can't believe that I did it. Sorry, I don't have a picture.

6. When this song was popular, cell phones were uncommon and Facebook was unheard of. Which has had a bigger impact on your life -- smart phones or social networking ?
I think cell phones, as I was big into sports and extra curricular activities and needed to be able to get in contact with my mom. Not necessarily smart phones. I wasn't that into them for a long time along with social networking. The only reason I really got into social networking was to keep in touch with friends. And at the time that was MySpace. I still have it, but don't remember my login stuff. Now it's Facebook and Blogging and most of that is for my family and friends since I live across the country from them.

7. Whitney's marriage to Bobby Brown left many people shaking their heads. Whitney and Bobby's daughter recently married the young man who was raised as her brother. Have you ever been in a relationship your friends/family didn't approve of?
Yes, there have been a few relationships that my family didn't approve of.

8. Whitney Houston's grave marker reads, "I Will Always Love You," so obviously her family is very proud of the success of this recording. How would you like to be remembered?
I don't know how I want to be remembered. I just hope that my family and friends know that I love them.

9. Whitney was born in Newark, the largest city in New Jersey. It's a major air, rail, and shipping hub, and it's in the Eastern Time Zone. Have you ever been to Newark ... or any town in New Jersey?
Nope, never been. But I would love to go. I want to go to Carlo's bakery and get some of their delicious desserts. :)

Day 24: Describe your first job.

My first job I was working in a Nursing Home. Actually it all started as volunteering. But my from my volunteering I got my first job. I worked as a receptionist at the nursing home that I volunteered at for years. I loved working there. I worked at times as a receptionist and then other times I worked in the activity department. I answered the phones, did computer work, paper work, and best of all conversed with the residents. I loved my residents. When I worked in the activity department I did paper work, called bingo, exercised with the residents, and served ice cream. I think that I had more fun in the activity department than anything that I have done.

Random Pictures From Our Day

We had a pretty good day today. Although, I woke up with a terrible headache. The kiddos woke up about 0730, Michael thought that he was still tired and wanted to sleep some more. So me and Lyric came out into the living room and cuddled while watching a movie. After a little while though, she was done cuddling and wanted to play a little bit. So, she played with her kitchen stuff and I laid on the sofa while watching her and a movie. I got rid of my headache! :) Michael decided that it was time to get up.

We went about our day. Nothing big happened. Stayed inside as it has been bitter cold out.

Here are some random pictures from this evening. :)

Lyric "Roaring"

Mikey carrying a sock on his shoulder. (he put it there)

Lyric snuggling in her blanket from her Godmother for Christmas.

Mikey ramming his car back and forth and back and forth into the toys.

Making faces at mommy while taking pictures. :)

Mikey was coming after my camera, so I got a picture of him. Love his face! Bright flashes were coming from my camera.

I love getting to spend my days with these two kiddos. :)

Our First Tea Party

This evening we had our first tea party. Lyric and I started our tea party with just the two of us and her two baby dolls. Then Once we started to set out the plates and cups Mikey decided that he would join us. He just had a little bit of sibling rivalry going on.

After Lyric took all that she could from Mikey messing with her tea party she messed it up to the max. She scattered everything on the floor too.

After our rivalry session, we moved the tea party to the picnic table.

Here are some pictures of just Mikey and what he was doing during the tea party.

And then there is Lyric... Boy, was she having fun!

30 Days of Me Challenge (Day 23)

Day 23: List your top 3 hobbies and why you love them.

I think my first top hobby that I enjoy is playing my flute and piccolo. Although, I haven't played it in a while. I love playing my flute. I can't explain the joy that I get from playing. It is something that I love. And something that I don't ever want to give up.

Another hobby that I enjoy is baking. I love to bake. I just love it. There is no doubt about that. I think my favorite thing to bake are cookies. I think that I love to bake because it is fun and it is something that I can get Lyric to help with. She enjoys to help me bake and when I'm not looking she likes to steal the cookie dough. Like mother, like daughter. :)

A third hobby that I enjoy is coloring. I have always enjoyed it. And Lyric loves to color as well. Although, as I am coloring my page she decides that she would rather have my page and I her page. I think that I enjoy coloring because it is enjoyable. It is fun and soothing.

Snow Day!

We had a snow storm night before last. They were saying that we were going to get anywhere between one to three inches of snow. Well, when the snow started coming down it wasn't sticking to the ground. So, I had my doubts. I didn't think that we were going to wake up and have any snow. :(

Well, I was wrong...

We ended up getting about three inches of snow. :)

It was Lyric's second time out in the snow and Michael's first time.

Lyric is making foot tracks in the snow. :)

I don't know about this 'white stuff' yet.
Whatever it is, it is cold.

Both of my babies standing by each other, wondering what to do.

We only lasted about ten minutes the first time we went outside. Lyric decided that she didn't want to keep her gloves on and wanted to play in the snow bare handed. She would not keep the gloves on for nothing. Well, she fell in the snow and made a snowball all bare handed. Then got hysterical because her hands and fingers were frozen. She is a lot like her daddy on that part. He hates when his hands and fingers are cold, he gets cranky too. :)

Then, when Mikey took his nap, me and Lyric went out and built ourselves a snowman. :) It was our first snowman that we built together. The only thing that could have made the experience better was having Chris there to help us.
