30 Days of Me Challenge (Day 30)

Day 30: List 5 things you would hope to be remembered for.

1. I want to be remembered as a good wife and a good mother. I want everyone to know that we survived and pushed through all the hard times.

2. I want to be remembered as someone who appreciated life. I enjoyed everyone and everything that I was around.

3. That I never gave up on anything or anyone.

4. I want to be remembered for my personality.

5. In all honesty, I just want to be remembered.

30 Days of Me Challenge (Day 29)

Day 29: What were your three favorite toys/games as a child?

When me and my siblings would stay at my Grama and Popa's house we would play hide and seek with our Uncle Ted. I think this is one of my absolute favorite games that I played.

My favorite toys were barbie dolls. We had a suitcase full of barbies and accessories to go with them. Me and my sisters played with them almost daily.

Another game that I enjoyed as a child was playing UNO with my grama. I loved to play, and boy was I a cheater! She almost never caught on to when I would cheat. :)

30 Days of Me Challenge (Day 27)

Day 27: What is your favorite part of your body and why?

Where I had problems with the last prompt this one makes up for it.

My favorite part of my body would have to be my breasts. I think that they are the perfect size and I wouldn't trade them for anything. That and my height. I am not too tall and I'm not that short either.

30 Days of Me Challenge (Day 26)

Day 26: What popular notion do you think the world has wrong?

Hmmm....

I don't know. I really don't know how to answer this question. Sorry.

30 Days of Me Challenge (Day 25)

Day 25: If you could have dinner with anyone in history, who would it be and what would you eat?

Hmm... If I could have dinner with anyone in history I think that I would want to have dinner with Helen Keller. I would want to have dinner with her because she was an inspiration to me when I was learning how to sign. I have always thought that it was neat how she signed into another persons hand.

What I would have to eat would be a either a three course seafood meal or a five course fondue meal. Both of which I really like. :)

30 Days of Me Challenge (Day 24)

Day 24: Describe your first job.

My first job I was working in a Nursing Home. Actually it all started as volunteering. But my from my volunteering I got my first job. I worked as a receptionist at the nursing home that I volunteered at for years. I loved working there. I worked at times as a receptionist and then other times I worked in the activity department. I answered the phones, did computer work, paper work, and best of all conversed with the residents. I loved my residents. When I worked in the activity department I did paper work, called bingo, exercised with the residents, and served ice cream. I think that I had more fun in the activity department than anything that I have done.

30 Days of Me Challenge (Day 23)

Day 23: List your top 3 hobbies and why you love them.

I think my first top hobby that I enjoy is playing my flute and piccolo. Although, I haven't played it in a while. I love playing my flute. I can't explain the joy that I get from playing. It is something that I love. And something that I don't ever want to give up.

Another hobby that I enjoy is baking. I love to bake. I just love it. There is no doubt about that. I think my favorite thing to bake are cookies. I think that I love to bake because it is fun and it is something that I can get Lyric to help with. She enjoys to help me bake and when I'm not looking she likes to steal the cookie dough. Like mother, like daughter. :)

A third hobby that I enjoy is coloring. I have always enjoyed it. And Lyric loves to color as well. Although, as I am coloring my page she decides that she would rather have my page and I her page. I think that I enjoy coloring because it is enjoyable. It is fun and soothing.

30 Days of Me Challenge (Day 22)

Day 22: Where do you see yourself in 5 years? 10 years? 15 years?

Hmm... In 5 years I see myself with my degree for teaching.

I don't know where I see myself in 10 or 15 years. Hopefully happy with my family and still teaching. Maybe working toward another degree. I'm not quite sure what degree I was thinking about though.

30 Days of Me Challenge (Day 21)

Day 21: If you could have 1 superpower, what would it be and what would be the first thing you did with it?

If I could have one superpower I think the superpower that I would want is to have the ability to have multiple arms when I desire. The first thing that I would probably do with them is to clean my house and keep the kiddos occupied at the same time. I could clean and hold Michael at the same time. It seems that whenever I clean he thinks that it is time to be held.

30 Days of Me Challenge (Day 20)

Day 20: Describe 3 significant memories from your childhood.

I have four.

1. Me and my sisters used to spend every weekend with our grandparents. They would pick us up either after school on Friday or sometime in that afternoon or early evening. And then we would head to their house and spend the weekend with them. Most weekends we would stay with them until Monday morning as our Grama was a Foster Grandparent and volunteered in our classes on Mondays, Wednesdays, and some Fridays. So we would ride with her to school. And we would almost always go by a Moxie Java and get a hot mocha. I always enjoyed having my Grama help in my classes. I had her in all of my classes from First Grade all the way up until Sixth Grade. After I left Elementary School my Grama retired from the program.

2. I go back and think about this memory quite a bit. Especially when I am thinking about my Popa. He was a Shriner and was also involved in the Shrine Band. He had a Trumpet and a Tuba that he would let us kids try and play when we were over at their house. We may have never actually "played" the instrument I remember having so much fun. Another memory I have personally with my Popa is dancing with him. I was little and I would stand on his feet holding his hands and we would dance around the family room listening to music.

3. Playing hide and seek with our Uncle Ted. It didn't matter where we hid he found us every time. Even when we thought that we had some of the best hiding places in the house. I remember hiding in the broom closet and the clothes hamper. Although, you needed a little bit of help to hid in the clothes hamper. I also remember hiding out in the garage in my Popa's computer room. When our Uncle found us he almost always scared us. Was just part of the game. Another memory I have with my Uncle Ted is doing his hair and playing Doctor with him. He had a few ace bandages that he would let us play with and we would wrap his arms and hands as if they were broken.

4. My Uncle John took me on my first ski trip to Bogus Basin when I was nine years old I believe. I took the ski class and then me and him would go and ski for the rest of the afternoon. He also took me on my first night skiing trip. He is the one that got me into skiing. And it is something that I looked forward to every Thanksgiving and winter season. And then he moved to Washington... :(

30 Days of Me Challenge (Day 19)

Day 19: If you could live anywhere, where would it be and why?

If I could live anywhere I would want to live anywhere where I could be near a beach. I have really enjoyed living in Virginia. I think that it is really nice here. I really like it. We have all four seasons, although, I haven't seen a whole lot of snow.

If I could choose anywhere to live, it would be Hawaii. It's always warm and sunny. I can lounge on the beach and swim almost whenever I please. Maybe I'd lean how to surf?

Another place I would like to live is Alaska. Completely opposite from Hawaii, but I think it would be great. I do love the snow, but don't know about the cold all the time.

30 Days of Me Challenge (Day 18)

Day 18: What is the most difficult thing you have had to forgive?

Hmm.... I've been think about this prompt for days now. I can'r recall of something very difficult for me to forgive. I've been thinking and thinking about it though. I'll keep thinking about it and come back and answer it at a later date if I can think of it.

30 Days of Me Challenge (Day 17)

Day 17: What is the thing you most wish you were great at?

I wish more than anything that I could play the piano. My grama has had a piano for as long as I can remember. I once was able to play a few easy tunes on it, but nothing like what I wish I could do. It has always been a dream of mine to be able to play the piano. Maybe one day I will be able to, but I don't know.

30 Days of Me Challenge (Day 16)

Day 16: What are your 5 greatest accomplishments?

I think that my number one greatest accomplishment would be my kiddos. Chris has given me the greatest gift on earth, the opportunity to be a mother to both a girl and a boy. :) They have taught me how to love, care, spoil, and have I mentioned love?

Another thing that I think is a great accomplishment would be my learning to read and play music on my flute/piccolo. When I first got my flute I remember getting really light headed. I thought that I would never get the hang of it and I did. I even got to be first chair flute in middle school. I played my flute/piccolo all through high school.

Another great accomplishment I believe would be graduating from High School. Yea, it might not have been through a public school. But I still graduated. And I graduated with honors. But I didn't know that until after I had graduated, because then I could have gotten my cord for honors. :)

I can't think of any other accomplishments right now. If I can think of anymore I will come back and add them. :)

30 Days of Me Challenge (Day 15)

Day 15: If you were an animal, what would you be and why?

If I were to be an animal I would be a cat.

I would be a cat because I could lounge around and relax all day. I could lay in a persons lap and be petted and cuddled all day. I wouldn't have to go outside unless I really wanted to,. That means that I could stay indoors when it was really cold and could go outside and lounge in the sun in the summer. How nice could/would that be?

30 Days of Me Challenge (Day 14)

Day 14: Describe 5 strengths you have.

Hmm... What are 5 of my strengths?

This could go either way... I forgive easily. It doesn't matter what you did or said, give me a few minutes and all will be okay.

I am pretty good at multi-tasking.

I think that I am great at cleaning. I hate to clean, but when I do it, I do a pretty good job, I think. I love to have a clean living area. Our bedrooms may not be as clean as I would like, but our main areas of the house are almost always clean. If they aren't clean during the day it is because of the kids toys. But before going to bed, I make sure that the living area is clean.

I am a great cook/baker according to Chris and some other people. I love to cook/bake.

I can't think of a 5th one. Sorry.

30 Days of Me Challenge (Day 13)

Day 13: Describe 5 weaknesses you have.

Hmm... What are 5 of my weaknesses?

I think my number one weakness is not speaking what is on my mind. I am a terrible talker. I don't know why I am this way. But I am. I hate it. It is something that I really, REALLY need to work on. It causes more problems than anything.

A second weaknesses that I have is holding things in. I have done it for as long as I can remember. I bottle up anything and everything that bothers me. I bottle it up until it sometimes can make me sick.

A third weakness that I have is that I can hold grudges. I know that it isn't right and that it isn't fair. I don't mean to do it, but I sometimes find that I have or am holding a grudge.

I am terrible at folding and putting away clean clothes. I wash and dry them, but they can sit in the dryer for a few days or in a nice folded/hung pile of clothes on the floor.

I am stubborn. I like to have things a certain way. Things have there own place where they belong and how I want them to go. (i.e. hangers all plastic and going the same way, clothes all facing the same direction)

30 Days of Me Challenge (Day 12)

Day 12: Describe a typical day in your life.

A typical day in my life would be getting up in the morning to my two wonderful kids. Michael wakes up saying, "dada" or "daddy." And then Lyric wakes up, comes to our doorway and says "mommy, daddy." That is our cue to get up and start the day. Most mornings though, I can lay in bed and listen to Lyric talk and sing to her brother and play in the bedroom for awhile. When they start getting fussy then we get up and get dressed. We then head to the living room and get something to eat for breakfast. Most mornings, after breakfast Michael likes to go back down for a nap, then me and Lyric listen to music or watch a movie and play with play doh and her play kitchen. We eat lunch, Lyric goes down for a nap, Michael also goes down for his second nap and I work on anything that might need to be done with the house, catch up on my blogging, catch up on my t.v. shows or take a nap/relax myself. Usually after the kids nap, Chris is getting home from work then I start on dinner and we eat dinner. Kids get their baths, Michael goes to bed (but not without everyone giving him hugs and kisses) then Lyric and I play with play doh again for about an hour to an hour and a half. Then we pick up toys and give mommy and daddy hugs and kisses and she goes to bed. Me and Chris then relax, I blog, he plays video games or we watch a movie. Once we know that both of the kids are out for the count we head to bed.

Then we do it all over again. :)

30 Days of Me Challenge (Day 11)

Day 11: Describe a few of your pet peeves.

Hmm... Pet peeves of mine? I guess they would be some of your typical things.

1. Chewing with your mouth open. Ugh! That's just disgusting. Lyric learned at an early age that she is to eat 'pretty.' It isn't pretty when you chew with your mouth open, people don't need to see what you are eating.

2. Not covering your mouth when coughing or sneezing. You don't need to share your yucky germs with those around you. Lyric's even got this down. :)

3. Talking on your cell phone while at the counter to order/pay for something.
